I do recreational boating in oregon with my 17 foot boat that I purchased last year and I need to know if I have to have it insured with liability (or any other kind) insurance. Anyone know the oregon law on this?
Since boats are more susceptible to damage and accidents than cars, Insurance is a good idea to protect your investment. Also if someone is injured in your boat by accident or due to inadvertent negligence it would be comforting to know you won't lose your butt if sued.
I recommend it strongly. It may be cheaper to include it with house hold insurance.
Good Luck and Safe Boating!!
but we are getting reinstated agin I am a little bite of insevure because we are really young and I always get concern that some people get advantage of us for being too youn it has happen. Now this are the prices do they look goo to you. it is 500000 house the annual premiun would be 946.47. Is there a website in which we can check home insurance prices?
No, there isn't. You'd have to put in your personal information to get an accurate quote. It's going to vary wildly, depending on the house (age, construction, etc), location, and your credit score.
But I can tell you, any homeowner in Florida would KILL to have that rate. Heck, it's a much better rate than I have on my house here in Houston. But you ALSO have to compare coverages - not just the limit, but the actual COVERAGES.
An agent can sit down and go over all this with you.
Can I call an insurance company the instant I buy a car and say, "Hey, I just bought a car. I want to get insurance for it."? I think companies should do this because if I take off from the dealership without insurance, and somebody hits me on the way home, I'm in trouble, right? I looked everywhere for this information, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Could somebody clarify this issue for me?
If you buy a car and have a loan on it you are required to have insurance before leaving the car dealership.
Most insurance companies have a way to buy on-line or over the phone.
Call your local State Farm agent and they can help you. (www.statefarm.com)
Good luck.
I'm going on holiday tomorrow and only just realised my travel insurance has expired. Where I can get travel insurance online right now. I'm in Ireland.
You can get it online at: https://www.globaltravelshield.com/
I was involved i car accident with the other driver taking the blame. My car is damaged and the other drivers insurance company will be contacting me regarding my car. What should I ask them? I am planning to ask about a hire car, who will repair my car or declare it a write off, can I claim for travel expenses whilst without my car and also is it okay to continu driving my damaged car before it is assessed by them. Is there anything else I should ask?
Year, make , model, extent and area of damage? The other party's insurance should pay for a rental…best not to drive the car if the damage causes it to be unsafe or can cause further damage. Total loss is usually when repairs would exceed 70-80 percent of actual value of the car.
Discuss what repairs need to be done, any parts other than OEM that will be used, any betterment involved on wearable items, guarantee on repairs, qualities and expertise of the repair shop, diminished value if your state allows that, any possible long term or post-repair problems that may crop up and need to be supplemented.
If answers are not acceptable, you may want to go through your own insurance and let them go after the other party.
i believe i am supposed to have comprehensive coverage on the car, however its just way to expensive to do that as well as the ridiclous payment i have. I heard somewhere that if you get the cheaper insurance, that the bank can find out and take the car back, which i would obviously like to avoid.
You MUST have the insurance which was agreed upon at signing of the leased vehicle. The primary reason for this is because you technically do NOT OWN the vehicle, the bank does. They have financial interest in the vehicle (since they own the title for the car).
The bank could DEFINITELY find out that your coverages are not sufficient and they would then either:
#1 force you into some high priced insurance at their terms (if you are lucky) OR #2 repossess the car.
I work for an insurance company and lease and lien companies DO CALL the insurance company to verify coverage.
They WILL FIND OUT if it is not properly insured.
So my advise is to insure the vehicle to the agreed terms.
what insurance company will still give someone a great insurance quote even though he is taking cymbalta?
AIG has really good rates on term insurance at the moment. I don’t think that the cymbalta would cause you to get surcharged, but it will most likely prevent you from getting preferred rates. In most states that I know of, suicide isn’t covered for the first two years of the policy (and is covered after that) so depression isn’t a huge risk, especially if it’s being treated. Call around, maybe talk to some brokers who write for numerous companies. Just call and ask if you’d be surcharged or table rated due to your medication, they should be able to find out quickly for you, then you can focus on getting quotes.
Please give me an idea of your home insurance premiums if you live in a neighborhood in Toronto East. For example, I was quoted $1,046/year by a company for a semi-detached home. I'd like to do a really loose comparison.
thats too expensive. forget about land, think about how much it cost to rebuild your house probably $200k and insured to that amount. don't ask for quotation, go to allstate and tell them what you want.
I know there will be LOT of insurance people out there ready to start quoting. If you are honest & your name alone speaks volumes. I need really good insuranc . my Insurace went sky high on me on both. Car & home. Had insurance with them since 70's.I nne free quotes bad. EASY ones. I dont understand legal mumbo jumbo. Thank ya'.!
Well, if it went sky high, there's a reason for that. It's time to shop around. Your BEST bet is to find a local, independent agent - because not all companies write in all states.
Also, unless you're in CA, the premiums are now dependent on YOUR CREDIT SCORE. So you'll have to give VERY personal information out to someone, to get quotes. And you're more likely to be happy doing that in person, and not over the internet.
I am 18 and just bought a Nissan Altima 08. I live in California, Los Angeles. I am trying to get insured and they want to charge me $3000 a year. Thats $250 a month for car insurance. Its more then my car payments. Anyone know any insurance company that can offer a better deal?
Cheap and 18 is an oxymoron. Add CA to the mix and it gets worse. Then factor in an almost new car…
If you live at home, get added to your parents insurance. If you don't, talk to an independent agent to see if you can do any better.
