but we are getting reinstated agin I am a little bite of insevure because we are really young and I always get concern that some people get advantage of us for being too youn it has happen. Now this are the prices do they look goo to you. it is 500000 house the annual premiun would be 946.47. Is there a website in which we can check home insurance prices?
No, there isn't. You'd have to put in your personal information to get an accurate quote. It's going to vary wildly, depending on the house (age, construction, etc), location, and your credit score.
But I can tell you, any homeowner in Florida would KILL to have that rate. Heck, it's a much better rate than I have on my house here in Houston. But you ALSO have to compare coverages - not just the limit, but the actual COVERAGES.
An agent can sit down and go over all this with you.
I want to insure a small house in Arnett, OK, worth about 25k, I do not have insurance at present; I am concerned with strong winds and severe weather
Any Insurance company should be able to give you a Homeowners Policy. The same company you have your vehicle ins. through should be able to help you with the house too!
American Family is pretty good and they usaully don't pester you with stuff.
Ok this guy lives with his grilfriend and her son.
someone broke into the house when they were asleep and nicked everything.
The girlfriend rang up the insurance and they said they will pay the damage of the door but not anything else because the guy that lives there got a bad criminal record.
can they do that
it will be written into the contract that you signed and unless you read the full contract you will never know about the clause but the insurance company do and they will use it to avoid liabilty.
the really bad part is if you do disclose they will refuse you insurance so in actual fact approx 1 million people pay insurance in the UK THAT are not in fact covered because someone within the household as a criminal record
I was wondering if house insurance for a duplex costs more than for single family homes.
I own both single family and duplexes that I rent out. The cost is not higher per address, but the insuance is calculated as two seperate residences for the duplexes. I do not pay them as a single building.
I was cutting some trees down and bounced one off the house. I'll have to see if there was any damage; would that be covered by insurance should something be royally messed up or is it tough luck?
Thanx
Don't lie about what happened. Turn the claim in, tell the truth, and see if the insurance company will pay. Two weeks ago, I had a client call me, and he had done the same thing you did. We filed the claim with the company, and much to my surprise, it was covered. I can't guarantee your company will cover this claim, but its worth a shot.
Near where I live, there have been loads of floods, as shown on the news. Today, I saw a couple pleading poverty because their house is totally flooded. However, in the next breath they say they have no house insurance, I assume they mean contents insurance. I can't believe that people say a few pounds a month by not being insured but know what the consequences could be. Am I the only person who feels no pity for these people?
Sorry, I meant they save a few pounds not "say".
Bear in mind that these people have to insure their cars and surely their house and it's contents are worth a lot more to them. I know it would be a nightmare if it happened to anyone of us but I imagine it would be much worse if we had to think about paying for damage rather than replacing material things.
that is the one thing that we make sure that we have, cos you never know what could happen. The last thing that i would want is to make my kids homeless because we can't afford to get our house repaired if and damaged ever occured. People always think it will never happen to them. But by the looks of things it does. Maybe they will learn and get insurance next time.
Is there a site online where i can see a full list of companies that offers house insurance? I mean companies offering house insurance throughout USA and Canada?
No, because not all companies offer insurance in all states, and many do not offer coverage out of hte country.
If you're looking for a particular state, you can go to that state insurance department's website, and they usually have posted the companies licensed to do business in that state.
Keep in mind, however, that some companies who are NOT licensed to do business in that state, will still write coverage for houses (not a true homeowners package policy), so it's not all inclusive.
If you wish to put in the 150 hours or so of work it's going to take to compile the list, and post it on the internet for free, feel free to do so.
We're buying our first house & our mortgage guy estimated our costs for house insurance should be $400-500. We've gotten two estimates & they were $730 & $775. What could be driving up the costs that none of us expected?
The home was built in 1920, has wood siding, & is in city limits (near hydrants). The only other factors I can think that may raise the price are the fact that the fire station is on the other side of the rail road tracks, the fact the home is situated on a State Route/high traffic road, & close to a bar… Or is there somthing more?
There are a few factors that can make the cost go up If the home was built in 1920 and depending on updates on the electrical wiring that can make it go up higher since it is more of a fire hazard. If it is near water as well that can make it go up as well fire places and wood stoves. I use to do insurance and those were some of the factors that can make it go up. Check with a few more companies you might be surprised and find a cheaper one.
My realtor said I had to pay for house insurance one yr in advance, which on the closing day I did. But when I get my mortgage payment stub, on the Escrow account it says part of the payment will go to house insurance, why is that? Am i paying twice for it?
You need to provide your mortgage company proof of your insurance. They will bill you for theirs until you prove you have your own.
